How to Numb
Numbing
When your client is comfortable, you can work more effectively and much quicker. To save time, have them arrive prior to their actual appointment time and allow them to numb. Be sure they are comfortable during this time in a spot where they can just rest and relax. They’re most likely anxious. You want to calm them from the beginning.
*Be sure to double check you client intake form for any allergies.
Apply topical numbing cream with a q-tip on cleaned procedure area and let it sit for 20 minutes.
It is your responsibility to research your chosen numbing product to ensure it is safe for the eye area. Find the manufacturers MSDS information, many states require this to be kept on file for each product used.
I like to use Dr. Numb, because it is 5% lidocaine and does not have benzocaine or epinephrine, which are not recommended for use with eyeliner.
*Do not occlude when numbing the eyes.
